A dog cage is really a safe method to confine a dog whenever the owner can't monitor it carefully. Extra room in a cage might pose a danger of injury, however, and can make house training harder. Crate dividers offer a way to block off a percentage of the crate, providing the dog sufficient room without permitting too much space.
1) Put together the cage. Keep to the manufacturer's directions for cage assembly.
2) Figure out the appropriate crate length. Make certain the dog has sufficient room to easily stand up, lie down and turn around.
3) Measure the crate from the front to the preferred length, and determine the nearest upright wires on each side. Mark the upright wires with a small piece of masking tape.
4) Place the divider with the crate door with the hooks facing towards the back of the crate. Connect one side of the divider onto the designated upright wire, and then connect the other side to the other designated wire.
5) Make sure the divider is hooked securely and remove the masking tape.
