I gave up on the crate training. I think that b/c he was transported via a rescue transport truck to me he has some issues.
He will go on a pee-pad in my room. He’ll also go to sleep in his crate at night but I leave the door open. He was in boarding recently and they put him in his crate at night and I noticed a small sore on his paw I think from trying to get out. So, I think extremely slowly over time I’ll try closing the door sometimes but over the coarse of a year perhaps.

@cbrowncolors you should let him adjust to be on the cage start over again first 5 mins then 10mins work slowly up…it sounds like a separation problem.
