  1. That…. is a dog. A crate (cage) that size is like a play pen to a puppy. First time you put a puppy inside and shut the door they will cry and howl all night…

  4. i know this is a month later but…. a good way to pick your crate size is think of how big that puppy will be in 6 months. yes you might have to buy 1 or 2 crates but better than new carpet.

  11. ok then every time your puppy wakes up from sleep, is done eating, or has just played a lot, you should quickly rush your puppy out to the yard and place him/her on the spot you want it to eliminate. do this immediately as for puppies can’t hold there bladder very long.

  16. your welcome

  17. Thanks. I’m a full time college student so buying a brand new dog house isn’t an option at the moment. I’m not a big light person so it’s usually pretty dark in the room. Interestingly when she starts whining in her crate she only stops if I’m looking at her so I’m not sure how effective keeping her in a covered location would be. Thanks so much for your comments I definitely appreciate them.

  18. by any chance if your pup starts to ill behave, then you should change the crate immediately to a small, dark and cozy dog house because dogs and pups both don’t like being seen while resting and the dog house acts like a den which gives them some privacy. be sure to make the dog house well cushioned too and the temperature of the house should be cool. I have a lab pup and put it in a crate and it didn’t like it so I put it in a dog house and today he’s extremely happy and playful.

  19. It’s a wire crate. It took a while but she’s ok now as long as she doesn’t think she’s missing something happening in the house. I guess it was a mixture of her getting used to it, the treats I frequently dropped in the crate for her, and the teddy bear we gave her to hug while laying down. :)

  21. My pup hates her crates. I’ve put bedding, toys, and treats in there for her but she whines the whole time. I can stand her whining…its just I feel bad for her. What can I do?
