Question by mommyme: I need ideas on keeping a lab inside the fenced yard?
I have a very sweet 70 lb lab. He has a large pen in the shade with a dog-house. The past month he will not stay in the fence. He gets in the corner and manages to jump work his way over the fence. Is there a cheap way to "cover" the fenced portion?. Please help! my hubby had threatened to take him to the pound if we can't find a way to contain him. I don't want to crate him because we both work 8+ hours per day!

You can pick up a small electric fence controller(1 mile) at any farm store for around $ 30. You can use a fiberglass rod or pvc pipe as as isolator to run it on. You can run a top and bottom wire about 6 to 12 inches away from the fence and when it bites him a couple of times he will get the hint that that fence is the place he doesn't need to be. After he gets it in his head, you can turn the fence off, but leave it up to set the boundaries.
