I purchased this crate for our 1-yr old schnauzer/poodle mix who’s about 16 pounds. He previously had a small crate, and we just wanted to give him more room, as he grew bigger than we originally thought he would. Anyway, the crate is easy to put together. It comes with the panels forming the walls, floor and ceiling, so to speak, of the crate. All you have to do is put screws in the obvious places to join the panels together. It comes with the necessary tool, and I put it together in about 15 minutes. About the Natural color: It worked perfectly for our room. I just wanted to share that it’s not beige or sand colored. It does have a touch of yellow and is the color of French Vanilla ice cream. I hope that helps those of you debating on the color choices. I also like the way the crate is slightly raised off the floor. It’s well-ventilated, but still gives your dog that sheltered and secure environment.

This crate not only looks good, but is very well constructed. The crate does cost a bit more, but it is worth every penny. It looks so much nicer than a metal crate. There is no need for a cover to provide the dogs with the feeling of a cave that they tend to like. The door and the latch are well made and function easily. And my husband was happy that it was straightforward to construct. Top notch!!

Like other reviewers, I was very happy when I received Mr. Herzher’s Pet Residence. It looked great in place of the old wire crate I’d been using for my lab. Later the same day I crated her and ran a few errands. I was gone for about an hour. When I cam home, she had chewed a large hole in one of the side panels. This dog has not chewed anything else in my house (other than her toys), so I was really surprised. Although I found an online source for replacement panels, I’ve put the crate in storage for now. If your dog chews at all, this is a waste of money!

This was a much needed upgrade for my dogs after having Petmate crates for around 6 years. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much more room this product had in comparison to the Petmate crates. Both of my beagles love it! If anyone is buying this for a dog that has had an ACL knee repair, then I would highly recommend this product. My male beagle who had the knee surgery loved this product right away since it gave him more room to relax his leg. I also have plenty of room to place a throw blanket and a pillow for them, as well as a water bowl that I attached to the door. Since this product is built like wicker furniture for outside use, it gives you a complimentary look to your home decor without the worry of it being easily damaged.
