Question by Shiri!: Potty-training a 8-month old "puppy"?
I have a 8 month old Lhasapoo named Bubba. I've had him since he was 12 wks old, and he's lived outside since probably 13-14 wks. Well, it's getting to be the colder months of the year, and where I live we experience pretty chilly weather. I want to bring him inside, now. I've neglected potty-training him ever since we got him, (been REALLY busy - but I know that's no excuse) and now I'm finally getting on track! I'm thinking crate-training, think that's the best option? He's very willing to learn, and obedient, but he is kind of strong-willed/stubborn. I rly think crating him is best option bt i'm only worried caz his outside home is in his crate (heated w/ blankets and plastic cover) so will he get anxious being in his crate for long periods of time r will it confuse him since hes ben outsd so lng? Also, I don't want a long chart of how to crate train, i know the basic steps, i'd just like to know also how often to feed him/get him out to potty..thanks much guys!

For every month old is how many hours they can hold their pee, until they are 6 months. So if he's 2 months old, he has to be let out every 2 hours.

Crating a dog isn’t supposed to be like solitary confinement. They should be allowed out when you can supervise their activities around the house. Put him on a schedule for going out and stick to it. He may be very excited at being in the house and have more risk for accidents but other than that he will adjust quickly.
I used puppy pads. Bring them closer to the door each week or so and he will get the hang of it. Maggie learned in a month or two.
