Question by : What Do I Do? PLEASE HELP???
So... This whole mess that is now my life started very simply (ooh and to make it fun I'll put it in story mode!)
I sat on the edge of the Middle School steps, waiting for the always late bus to come. I was sitting by two of my friends, Ali and Julianne. Then Julianne asked me, "Do you want a baby kitten?" I didn't hesitate, even though I knew in the back of my head that I had a duck, an adult cat, a dog with two of her 6 month old pups, and 5 chickens. Definitely too many animals. But, there was an unstoppable urge to say yes, so they words burst out of my mouth, like a rocket that reached the end of a fuse. "YES! YES YES YES!" I screamed. Julianne looked at me like I was a new species of evil warthog. "Ok then..." She said. She told me that she had 2 black kittens, 1 Black and white one, and one calico one. I said I wanted the male black and white one. Julianne lives 9 houses away from me. She said she can come over to my house and give it to my mom, but I quickly objected. "Nooooooooooooo Way. My mom would kill me for making plans." But, I had a plan she wouldn't know. My plan is the next day Julianne will come to my house, and i will watch from my room window. Julianna will have the cat with her. She will come to the window and I will give her the "coast clear" signal. The we will both run to the door, I will open it, grab the cat, and she will run. I am happy to say the plan worked perfectly.
I held the kitten up. It was really young, it had ALL of its kitten fur. Its eyes were still squinty, probably only opened a couple of days ago. I got some milk and the kitten licked it vigorously. Julianne had said the kits name was Cleopatra. I checked, he was a BOY. But, Im calling him Cleo, Julianne wouldve liked it. Now came the big thing, telling my parents. And LEING. I told them I had heard mewing at my window and i found the kitten and took it in. They bought it. They put the cat in a big box, it wasnt house trained. Then, that night my dad said "Tommorow early in the morning I will take that scrawnt cat to the pound. "NO!!!!" I yelled. I screamed. I called him very bad things. I got grounded in the process. Nothing worked. NOTHING. He went to bed, and i was awake. I waited, Waited, and waited. 12:00. I crept into the garage, got the kitten, and took cleo to the backyard. I have a playhouse there from when I was very little. I took him in there, put in a litter box, stocked up in kitten food (i snuck out of the house with my bike and went to tomthumb) and i used an empty two liter bottle of coke to hold water (of course i put the water in a dish). So, the cat crate is empty at the pound, no one noticed (lol?). And I have to hide a kitten in an abandoned playhouse. what do i do? what CAN i do? Will I be able to hide this lie? what DID i do?
Distressed Hottie
P.S. None of the names are real (except for Cleo).

You HAVE to tell your parents! Explain to them the entire story and tell them that you really want the kitten and apologize and beg. Tell them this whole story! Whatever you do, you HAVE to get the kitten inside with proper care! It sounds like your kitten is REALLY young and needs warmth and special care and was taken away from it's mother too early! Seriously. Get the kitten help.

what were you thinking?!?!?!? a) if the cat just opened his eyes, he is WAY to young to be away from the mother. and b) it will die if it gets overheated. tell ur parents. beg. apoligize. give the cat back to your friend. does the friends parents know? jeeze. that was just not the smartest way you could have handled this situation…
1. apologize to your parents…seriously. 2. talk to them about the kitten. 3. if they do not want to keep the kitten, ask “julianne” if there would be any way to give the kitten back. 4. if not, your kitten could be given to another friend (who has permission), a neighbor (who also has permission), a teacher, aunt, uncle, cousin, the pound, the SPCA, or someone you know and trust will give the kitten a good life.
*In most pounds, animals that are not sold within two weeks, they are put to sleep, for ever.*
5. never do this ever again.
good luck
PUT IT INSIDE BEFORE IT DIES! it could overheat and die you know.
Uh, is this some kind of story?
If that kitten has just opened his eyes, he’s about a week and half old, give or take a few days. He is FAR too young to be eating kitten food, to potty on his own, and far, FAR too young to be taken from his mother.
You need to return the cat to your friend, and make sure she hasn’t irresponsibly given away the calico as well. When the cats can be rehomed (at 12 weeks of age) you can work together to find a good home for both kittens.
Get the cat out of that so-called playhouse NOW before he dies of heat stroke….or starvation…or dehydration…or lack of being able to eliminate. It’s a toss up..he’s never going to make it there.
You have been incredibly irresponsible up to this point–you and your friend both–time to redeem yourself.
Give the kitten back to your friend. If it is under 12 weeks old it should not be away from its mother. If you are hiding it in the backyard it is unsafe for the kitten. If your parents find out and take the kitten to the pound then you have no kitten and the kitten has no mother. Take it back now and let it grow properly. While it grows discuss it with your parents but you need to abide by their rules. If you continue to hide the kitten and it gets sick or injured, then what? If it lives until it reaches maturity how will you have it neutered? If it is outside un-neutered it will just create more stray kittens.
Again… take it back NOW!
Wow, this is the epitome of irresponsibility.
First you have a lot of other animals you aren’t happy with. Next you take a kitten away from it’s mother much too early. Third you LIE to your parents, fourth you take the cat in without your parents consent, fifth your dad threatens to take away the cat and you go into a baby temper tantrum(showing how immature you are), and THEN you hide away the cat.
If I was your mom or dad, I would whoop your a$ $ upon finding out.
Then I would immediately take the kitten to the pound.
How are your parents not supposed to find out that you’re buying cat food? What about medical bills? Vaccinations? Collar? Tags? You need an adult to go to the vet, and since it’s the law for cats and dogs to have rabies shots, how are you going to get that done? Otherwise, if your cat runs away without a collar, he could be rehomed or sheltered, or if found with a collar without a rabies thing, your parents could get into deep trouble.
Either way, you are eventually gonna get found out. Your trap of lies will probably due you in. Either that, or your cat will run away, or you will be found tracking supplies to the cat. Parents aren’t stupid you know. In Texas, it’s cold during the summer night, and in the summer, very hot. Your cat will either die from cold or heat.
Have fun with getting in trouble and tears, because at this point, either you go to your parents and ‘fess up like a good, honest kid would have done long before now, or you deal with the trouble yourself, which will be huge when your parents find out.
Edit-
By the way, I kind of doubt you’re a hottie…
